About the event
The Cold Mountain 50k/25k is Haywood County NC's very first trail race that spans a remote portion of the Pisgah National Forest and the Cold Mountain Game Lands. This course highlights the high elevation forests of Haywood County, climbing high above Lake Logan, traversing Lickstone Ridge, and descending to the West Fork of the Pigeon River bordering Shining Rock Wilderness and Middle Prong Wilderness. It crosses high mountain creeks that originate in the headwaters along the Blue Ridge Parkway and has views of the legendary Cold Mountain and the valley below. The Cold Mountain 50k/25k is much more than a race. It is a celebration of trail running, mountains, and the trail running community.
